North of London
Topped when necessary from tap which has gone through a water softener so soft water.
Use a water conditioner purchased from the dealer in the tank.
Used to put a jug (4 litres) in every 2-3 years but recently found another furnace sales that offers water testing so for $25 got it tested and they said I was good for a couple more years.
The jug of conditioner is over $100.

My furnace is Stainless steel and I would have to look up the number.

When we put it in we worked on a 10 year life span.

Yes know first ones in this area were just steel and rusted out quickly.
Several different makes around, most advertise Stainless now.

We did have a small leak which we noticed after around 5 years, it was a pinhole in a weld and a neighbour who is a welder found it with special dye and fixed it.
Usually make it through a season without having to add any water now.
Was topping it up once part way through season before so leak was probably always there.
