Oklahoma | If they jack up interest rate now, there will be immediate bankruptcy and farm liquidation. Inflation on inputs, land, machinery and parts are the high interest of our day today. I was but a baby during the 80s but I know it was a tough time. I do know that much of the wealth on our farm was acquired during the 70s though. You had cash prices around $5-6 with 1970s prices for everything else. That'd be like $30/bu wheat now. | |
