NW Central Ohio | ..I just repaired the tube on my 70'x10" Hutchinson. You need to find a piece of like sized tubing that extends past the rusty area and sleeve it around the outside. A patch is OK.....but not my favourite way to fix one. My older Mayrath 8" has the hydraulic swing auger drive. On our older IH tractors...you never need a by-pass...because the maximum pumping ability doesn't overspeed the swing auger. On my newer MXM tractor, I had to use the flow control adjustment on the tractor to slow it down so it doesn't throw grain out of the hopper and overfill the main auger. A needle valve installed between your hoses with T's would give you some adjustment if you need it. I would try it with grain in it first before messing with it though. By the way...if you're taking the bottom end apart...buy a new piece of flighting and replace the bottom 3' of flighting on the main auger. It will most likely be knife edged by wear at this point.
