If you want something that stays sharper to cut go to smaller diameter blades (20 or 22) and thinner. If you go less than 1/4" on anything over 22", I would think there would be problems with the centers breaking out if a person was in anything but light ground. Larger diameter blade, the thicker it will need to be. Smaller diameter blade the better it will penetrate and cut. Large diameter blades tend to roll over stuff just like a larger diameter tire rolls easier. Problem with thin, small diameter blades, they have to be changed more often. That is a job I am not crazy about. Disc we just sold was on its third set of 24x 1/4" blades. If it had 3/16"x 22's probably would have been on its fifth or sixth set of blades. Not to mention more bearings. John
