I have never moved a spreader to compensate. We have a even spread funnel I think Sukup calls it. Cut out a restrictor plate to lay in the bottom, trying to match with auger flow. (13" auger so kind of a guessing game on hole size in restrictor.) The point being to TRY to get even flow into the direct center of the spreader. I also put a bottle jack under one side of the axle or the other to try and get grain flow into the exact center. Not perfect but it helps a lot. Having somebody watch flow into the spreader while unloading can give you a lot of info.
