I don't know if there's an exact percentage but fall tillers have more yield potential than spring tillers. It probably varies by variety as it seems like some earlier maturing varieties like TAM 112 will come on and stool out well and yield ok in the spring. We're very dry too, going on almost 2 months with no rain and temps in the upper 80s and lower 90s day after day. Our county is full of dusted in fields or half stands where guys tried to plant to moisture.
