Subject: RE: Timothy - 1st Cut Tons Per Acre????

Penn State has a webpage that lists some facts and figures on this. They say anywhere between 2.5-4 tons per acre. If memory serves right, I'm thinking around the 3/ta range on first cutting, depending on moisture received and the stage you cut it at. I suppose at some time I saw timothy make 4/ta but it was likely pretty rank and stemmy by then. So maybe, look at 3.5 as a potential max yield goal??
