Subject: Timothy - 1st Cut Tons Per Acre????

Central Western VA Mountains
We get 1 cutting of Timothy around here, then it goes dormant. All the Timothy we make, we sell - small square bales.

Looking over my soil sample form, one of the questions is "expected yield per acre". The fertilizer recommendations will in part be with respect to my yield expectation.

Within reason, I want to maximize my Timothy yield since it's a one and done cut. No irrigation.

What is a reasonable (if there's such a thing) max yield expectation in tons per acre for Timothy?

Have one field in Clair, the other in Climax. This is the second year for both.

Looking for some guidance - all suggestions/experiences much appreciated.
