Subject: RE: willow tree

Saskatchewan
We have a Siberian white willow which is a beautiful tree. It does shed a lot of branches in a windstorm and I wonder how it can survive losing all those branches. We had an ice storm last week which was weighing it down hard but didn't do major damage. We are still under snow from three weeks ago and this will be the earliest start of the snow season ever in our area. We have planted twigs and they root easily. There are canola swaths under snow and standing wheat flat on the ground still under snow. We had record crops so this is very disappointing.
