Was it not a severe shortage of high protein wheat? IIRC, there was lots of good quality wheat in western Canada that year but protein was on the lower side.
That is not the case this year. Quality specs are down across western Canada. However, I'm hearing lots of higher protein wheat, especially in MB. Rare to hear of wheat under 14% this year in MB. Most 14-15%.
