North Central Texas | I agree you might want to hire a neighbor to plant if you can find one. Also, having the experience as to planting cotton is a plus. I have found that with our No Till that cotton benefits my cattle program. We plant black oat and barley cover along with radishes, peas and lentels. We plant that early so it gives us both early and late grazing other than our wheat for our cattle program and then terminate and plant cotton in the residue. We did this when we still tilled our wheat ground and found it worked well. Also, row spacing is not important. It is not about the rows but "plant population". When we planted 18,000 in 30 inch rows that gives you about 1 plant per foot, and that is plenty when it doesn't rain.
