Near-north Ontario, French River | I'm going to disagree that moving production to Mexico increased profit margin. I'm betting that all it did was maintain margins. Competitive pressures is what holds margins in check. Look at ag for example.. has the rapid increase in farm size lead to better margins or has it simply maintained margins? Much as we'd all like to believe corps are big and bad because they move production to lower cost areas the reality is that if they didn't move they'd probably be forced out of business as the consumer would refuse to pay a higher price for the product to keep the production local. |
