South Central Wisconsin | We went "all in"and put 12 rows on a Geringhoff rotodisk. I wanted to scream for the first 250-300 acres. Every piece of residue found its way into the machine. It literally looked like the work of a silage chopper behind the corn head. As the brushes limbered up , it slowly got better. I think the stalks started getting some sap out of them as well. We are blessed with very healthy stalks. The chains work much better when the corn has lost some leaves. Most of ours hasn't lost any. I think the brushes are capturing more of the head shelled corn. I'm about 50/50 on the value, as of today. | |
