| I've planted Tiffany, Dessie, and Corvalis. I think Tiffany might be slightly better than Dessie. I had a lot of die off with Corvalis after first cutting so I won't plant it again. I've only ever planted a single variety in any one year so have no direct comparison. I usually buy whatever I can get the best deal on for uncoated seed. I hate to pay for coating. Of coarse none of this may apply to you as I'm in the humid east. I did grow a good crop on a sand hill that was just cleared up this spring. This was an area that wouldn't even grow pine trees so it doesn't need too good of ground. First year I tried it under irrigation and that was a waste of water and irrigated ground. Cutting back next year because its hard to cure here. Need preservative and even then still get some mold. | |
