This is our first year for having an agronomist, and the fertilizer savings alone will pay his bill for the next few years! I'd say it's the best $6/acre we've ever spent.
That's cheap!! Around here it's $9 bucks for corn.. I expect them to look every week through the growing season AND send me a email of findings: water content, bugs, weeds and anything else that's a threat.. We had some rainy weather just recently and army worms took out 120 acres of alfalfa cause he claimed it was to hard to get around.. Not impressed they ate all the leaves off..
My advice is don't get to big or spread out that you can't do your job well and you personally know your fields and growers.. |
