Stratford WI | Was on the Coral Sea for a couple of Med cruises. Had some heavy seas that ripped stuff off the deck. We spent the time rolling around in our shop on chairs..
But being a power shop electrician, I was lower and about amidships in the ship and it wasn't too bad. Good sleeping. You could really feel the seas the more forward or aft you went.
Later on I was on tugboats and got stuck tieing up to a loaded ammo barge in 20 foot seas. One second I was looking down at the deck of the barge and the next second I was looking up at the bottom. Was about the scariest thing I'd done. Had to leap over onto a 2' wide catwalk, keep my balance and haul over a couple of 5" lines.
