Ottawa Valley, Eastern Ontario | A scenario like that can work the other way too. I work in ag retail and sometimes make deliveries if I am making sales calls in some areas. I may need a forklift or loader to get unloaded and I will call before and tell them what time I am going to be there and can they be there to unload. The answer is usually ya, no problem I will be around.Sometimes there is no one around and sometimes nobody answers their phone when I try to contact them to ask if I can go ahead and unload myself.I'll usually wait ten minutes or so and if no one shows up I hop on the forklift or loader tractor and complete the job. Most guys are ok with you running their equipment but some are fussy. I always make an attempt to contact someone to get the ok to run their equipment. Many of our long time customers know our delivery guys and have no problem with us unloading ourselves especially in the busy season.
