20 Miles West of Indianapolis Indiana | so I'm asking this constructively, to see how we really stand...
During the downturn of Ag (the 80's), was there a time one could sell (corn and soybeans is what I'm specifically wondering about) at a profit? I cannot remember what the high was this summer for Dec corn, but I know that I had some good sales of last years corn, and all of my 2017 new crop sales should be profitable. Now I'm not at all tooting my horn about my personal sales, I also sold corn after the rally because I was waiting for another target level on it, but the market gave me an opportunity to make good money.... Did the market do that in the 80's? That's my real question... Or was the market really below COP for the average or farmer budget? |
