Western-Central Lower Michigan | Might be just a stab in the dark, on your xp machine, download the proper edition (64 or 32bit) of the "Anniversary update" for windows 10.
Burn a DVD of it, then open the dvd and click on set up. Chose to upgrade and keep files.
Ive seen where users who dont keep the computer on for long periods so the machine can update have some issues. Windows 10 HAS to update automatically, no other way to avoid this.
