Montana | We pretty much have to check water tanks every day and we have neighbor bulls and cows and calves that want to graze our wheat regrowth more than their dry pastures. My poor wife is a very busy girl. We are very thankful for the Honda Rancher ATVs as they can cover a lot of ground smooth and fast It is not uncommon to put 25 miles on an ATV checking all of the tanks. My wife and daughter are pairing out the Steers and mothers from heifers and mothers and that is going well but takes a lot of driving and checking to make sure pairs are right. We like to run Steers on best feed to make sure we get them to sell weight. There is no real advantage to pushing heifer calves as ours usually sell as replacements except the bottom 20 percent. Sometimes I keep the bottom 20 percent an am amazed at what great cows they become. Some are smaller but really raise nice calves | |
