Subject: Straw Chopper Speed & Alarm on JD 9500

Ossian, IN
The alarm for the straw chopper on a 9500 combine, is it for slow speed or too fast? Ours seems to work fine most of the time, but there are times that when turning around and it's running empty, it'll start to alarm until it starts feeding through again. Normally not too bad as it's just while turning around, however, this year in wheat, there were a couple times when it didn't care how much was going through it, it was just a solid alarm.

And also while speaking about the chopper, how important is it to change the speed between corn and soybeans? We have always left it on the same pulley between all crops and have never saw the need for changing it over to the over pulley groove.
