Subject: RE: S670 auto steer

do not put activations on the small screen in the cab. you can not move that screen to different tractor/combine, and you cant get the activations off that screen, the command center display.

for a display I would get a new 2630 or an older 2600. both work great, big difference is you can run a camera, wireless data transfer, and use a USB stick for data on 2630. new 2630s you can get for $5900. you can get a used 2600 for about $2500-$3000. This display you can move from your s670 to your 8420.

for a receiver I would get a SF3000, do not get a Starfire ITC, they are outdated and will be getting shut down. SF3000 is a great receiver, get one new for $3100. good luck trying to find a used one. this also can be moved from your 8420 to S670 but they both require a different shroud, ask your ams guy for the one you don't have. new 3000s will come with either a deluxe or original shroud. original will fit your 8420, deluxe for anything new like the s670.
deere also has a new SF6000 that are pretty spendy but I don't think its necessary.
SF3000 is a SF1 accuracy right out of the gate, you do not need and activations or subscriptions. this is a 8-10 inch pass-to-pass accuracy. you can expect 8 with a 3000.

from there you can get an SF2 activation for $4000 and that is 2-4 inch accuracy. you will also need a subscription. price of that is dependent upon the length of subscription.
you can go to RTK for 1 inch accuracy, but I can't remember pricing for that.

Then to make this all work you will need an auto track activation for 3500.

if your 8420 is not autotrack ready you will need an ATU-200 which is a universal steering kit, that will run you 1400.

so for your most basic setup:
2630-$5900
3000-$3100
auto track activation-$3500
atu-200-$1400

sounds like a lot of money at first, but once you get into it, you will see how much of a value it is.
