The pins read the weight carried by the gauge wheels. Therefore if you've compacted the area withe the tractor and heave planter center section, I would expect less weight to be read on the pins since it will take more force to make the disc openers penetrate the compacted area.

If the center section wheels are trenching then the air bags in the center are compressing more as the parallel arms rise. If the bar is truly rigid and assuming no bar flex, then I would expect the weight reading on the pins in the wing areas to rise substantially as the amount of weight carried by the gauge wheels would increase because of increased frame weight transferred to the row units. In the wing section you have no compaction from the tires to increase the disc opener requirement weight so all the extra weight is carried by the gauge wheels.
