"Yes now I understand. I am familiar with the yield drag when a field has never had beans. I think the yield drag is due to the fact the soil doesn't have the rhizobia bacteria to cause the soybeans to nodulate. It does make sense to include soybeans in a cover crop mix planted ahead of soybeans to pre inoculate the soil but I am not sure it would pay to make a special trip with the planter. I would double inoculate the beans next year either way"
