High pressure valve has a larger core than the low pressure side. Low pressure is the same size as a typical tire valve core I believe.

I don't think I would want to use an actual tire core though. There are different seal materials for an a/c system. Tire core would work but not sure for how long. Your local napa probably has the right cores and tool. My store stocks a lot of a/c service parts and tools.
