Subject: Deere 9610 Engine Speed Sensor.

Beech Island, South Carolina
I have a 9610 Deere combine that is buzzing in my ear while harvesting telling me the engine RPM's are too low (which I'm pretty sure isn't the case). My research so far indicates it is likely a bad sensor.... I have replaced the "engine speed sensor" that is located on the (machine) rear of the engine that picks up on the gear teeth on the side of the timing cover. There is another "engine tach sensor" that is P/N RE12180 (item 8 circled in red).... I can't for the life of me find this sensor in my engine bay. I have stood on my head for 6 hours and I am starting to lose confidence in my abilities as a mechanic. anyone replaced this sensor before that can help me out?

Many thanks!
Austin
