As a last resort, I called the auctioneer who handled the sale. he was 94 and had long since retired. Said he remembered the sale and Grampa fondly and would look in his paperwork. I pretty much gave up hope then but he called me back a couple weeks later with the buyer's number, Called him, he sold it to a neighbor, who gave it to another neighbor and he had it in the weeds behind his barn. It never got more than thirty miles from the home place. Pretty good shape but it didn't run, it does now. |
