Hillbilly Techie - 5/29/2016 05:22 +1 for Lenovo, the T560 is the new version of the 550, if it fit's your budget I would recommend it. Check Lenovo price before buying elsewhere. Definitely go with an SSD unless you're comfortable putting one in yourself, probably save a nice chunk doing that, and it is pretty simple. Often good used laptops are sold without HDD, for privacy. That's a great opportunity to start over with a SSD and a clean install of your preferred OS... (watch out if there are drivers for this laptop version/OS combo) New laptops from the store are often screwed up already with trial versions and other stuff you never want and need. You won't need a huge HDD/SSD anyway for surfing only. A 15" laptop with full keyboard is what I prefer above tablets and other stuff for convenient surfing, too. And with SSD speed it's even more fun. |
