Subject: RE: Irrigation air vents

New London, Wisconsin
I have a hump in my 1570 foot main line that maybe should have had one but doesn't. It was trapping air and not running as efficiently as it would if it were all the way full of water. Now when I start up my system in spring, I push a foam plug through with the water pressure, then I reconnect the pivot to riser and it seems to solve my problem. It also chases out any sand or potential critter. I still get a little gurgle and spitting for the first hour on the pivot, but then it stops. Before the plug trick it never stopped spitting
