I don't know what farmer boy is.

Over the years we loaded an awful lot of pigs through wood chutes. They worked fine, and we're pretty cheap to build. Just make sure to have something on the floor so the pigs don't notice the change from concrete to wood. Some wood chips or old dry manure goes a long way to keep the pigs moving. IIRC, 28" wide on the inside is the magic number so they can go two wide if they're in a hurry but aren't too inclined to turn around.
