We have a newer H&S but have never considered these type of wheel rakes built for wet hay. Have you tried narrowing up your rake to take a smaller swath? We chop a lot of haylage but never use our rake because of the dirt that is pulled up onto the hay. The chopper knives wouldn't appreciate it. Try calling H&S directly at 715-387-3414
