Subject: Wind turbines revenue per day? Megawatts to KW or something

Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Without getting into the political and environmental arguments, I was trying to figure out how many dollars of wholesale power they put out in a day.

There is another big surge of wind power going up in our area. The biggest towers are supposedly 5 mega-watt capability. At their peak output at like 25-30 mph wind.

So suppose on an average breezy day here with steady winds in that peak output, I was wondering how much gross revenue that would be.

8 hours at 25 mph, putting out 5 mw per hr.

5 mw = 5000 kw.

8 hr = 40000 kw/hr????

Say wholesale electric power at the generation point is $.035 kw/hr that would be about $1400 worth of electricity that day?

I don't know if I am even in the ballpark.

I realize that about 75% of the time they are putting out zero, or are not at peak efficiency. But like I said I'm not discussing the merits of wind generation at the moment.
