maybe -gasp-go without insurance-why use crop insurance as scape goat-I ran into same problem few years ago-you could not harvest(chop or bale) the cover crop-per insurance wording-but you could spray to kill it same day and qualify-drop the insurance,and find a company that will insure or just drop it all together

As far as earthworms stated in the article-I have the same amount of earth worms in my non cover crop acres as in my covercrop fields-a lot-seem to have more where I haul cattle manure-maybe everyone that does no til and cover crops should have cattle manure-less erosion and healthier soil from adding organic manure
