western iowa,by Denison
huge swing today-492#hf Herefords at $1.41 -485#hf blacks at $1.49 thought the reds were better calves
some stand out red angus st at $2 weighing 365#

Matrix today at $500 head feed cost puts a 400# st worth $1.72# $688 and a hf back 10% put that hf worth $620
they just sold a 375# hf at $1.69
4 hf 724@$123-three Herefords and 1 black baldie-$890 head
Not very good sales anywhere today
With the board down hard every day makes it look like less value everyday in the feeders
355# colored hf@$1.40-they were speckled black and white but not holstein
most of feed cost at $.71# of gain with hf running around $.78
lot of fats that will be new crop starting May 1st with a $1.36 plus breakeven
Will be second loss for commercial lots-with $400-$600 loss in nov-dec time frame with the next fill probably be $200-$300 loss
They always said three loss's in a commercial lot and then things change
1165# stein st at $96-could use 60 more days feed
A very knowledgeable cow man said things wont change until short breds go to the packer and not back out
1 -865# black bred hf off a sort-of feeder hf (8month bred brought $825)
The high priced cattle are going to end up just like the $7 corn and harvest a lot of equity out of everyone
