Just picked a batch of asparagus.   It is kind of spindley/thin.    This was my MIL's patch and I know she never did anything for it.     Should it be thinned out  or fertilized.    We know the ground/yard has a very high P and K from having  chickens and turkey's  free ranging  on the farm / yard  many decades ago.     The newer patches  are still nice sized  stalks.
