I have a Proform and have had a lot of problems with it. I weigh less than than 180 lbs. The belt creeps to one side or the other, it moves in a herky-jerky motion despite my having tried to adjust the tension. It squeals so loud that you need ear protection! I think you do have to spend more or like others said, find a quality used one
