Subject: RE: large corn crop?

2012 was a crop disaster and the last two years have had severe Regional growing season problems. In The Last 5 Years tens of thousands of Acres has been improved by adding irrigation systems in dry areas and tile in too wet areas. Soil fertility has been built up on many farms and plant genetics had made advances. The timeliness for planting and harvesting crops for optimal results has been greatly improved with bigger and better equipment. The production potential of the United States is greatly underestimated and has been hampered by bad weather the last several years.

It sometimes amazes me the lack of self confidence that some grain producers have in the ability and potential of us farmers. That being said, it is certainly possible that the weather continues to throw someone a wicked nasty curve ball to attempt to overcome. The weather extremes that we have seen the last few years may certainly continue. I hope that the next 2 months allow everyone to plant their farms in a timely fashion, and that the growing season is relatively favorable.
