Well, since the seller is Peabody Coal, what would you expect? Seriously though, there are minerals under a lot of this area and it is not uncommon for there to be mineral reservations. I think these properties have already been mined under but you never know what else may be discovered in the future. They were held as trading material for property that would be surface mined. Again, fairly common practice here.
