To be fair we have to look at Nixon's soybean embargo put on in 1972 or 73 ? Don't remember the year.
When was he impeached ?
The way I look at it,
One Blue embargo, by Nixon, this was the start.
One Red embargo, by Carter, this was THE KILLER.
IDK know about Nixon's, Jimmy Carter put the grain embargo on with a stroke of his pen under an "Executive order" power off granted to him in the originally Russian Grain Agreement.

Anyone notice how NAT has changed ?
With my post above, I would have gotta my head ripped off from every direction in 2012-13 on that one.
The 1970/80's have came up many times as of late and I'm not the one bringing it up.

Another group of guys that have really changed are the Universities Market Experts. 3 years ago I listened to some of these explain in depth why you should be buying land. The thyme was "Build bins" the Ethanol plants will pay you for storing corn. NOW,,, there doom and gloom and saying get use to these prices. Back in the 70's these guys preached the $5-6 dollar wheat was here to said. JUST as the preached $10 wheat was here to stay in 2008. I should add NOT all U of wherever guys as K-state has been my back-up many times the last few years.

Fry is it possible for you to re-post that chart with 18-45-100 day SMA's ?

Anyone see the VERY BULLISH chart pattern in Fry's chart ?
Its VERY RARE and VERY BULLISH.
Anyone see where the rally of 1988 started LONG BEFORE the drought ?
Notice Fry's blue line @ 2.17
I have the same multi-year line on my monthly @ 4.50
2.17 was as pivotal point back then was 4.50 is today*****
So just over 2X price SAME pivotal point.
