Centre county Pennsylvania, USA
NEVER hold old crop corn past July is the real deal advice. Failure to heed that advice results in significant loss on average, depending on geographical area. Attached chart illustrates average loss for holding old crop corn after June. Chart data source is USDA, and shows significant loss from June to October in all geographical area cash corn markets, more in some areas than others. Cash corn has average seasonal high in May to June in nearly all geographical areas. Playing the seasonals game, sell old crop corn in May, is often the most rewarding market strategy.
