Hutchinson, MN | Feeding a hydration product has had a tremendous benefit in my experience, in dealing with heat stress. I think several feed companies have these products, I only have used Hydro-Lac made by Form-A-Feed in Stewart, MN. Cost is a factor at $.46/cow/day but production holds steady no matter what the temperature and humidity is. Flies must also be controlled to see full benefit, I'm able to have Rabon in the ration for all cattle on the farm and utilize Ultra Boss on the milking herd and dry cows for results I'm well satisfied with. The Rabon must be started early and fed all season. | |
