Have you noticed the tires tractor pullers use? If brand new tires pulled better than cut down ones I'm that is what they would use. Had a tractor once that was our big horse at the time. When we got it it had one practically new 24.5x32 and one wore completely out. In a hard pull the new tire would spin first every time, even in worked ground.


Thats a different situation, you don't want 100% traction with a pulling tire. In the field you do, unless you like wasting time, fuel, etc.

Worn tires can pull fine in the field too though under certain conditions.
