Subject: Have an 8.1 liter John Deere engine that suddenly

Central KS
started having excessive blow-by. After sitting most of the winter without much use, we changed the oil and found a small amount of coolant when we first took the drain plug out.
The coolant level does not seem to have changed in the 4-5 days we ran it lately.
Now after changing the oil, there is a lot of blow-by and the oil level is dropping.
Trying to decide what is the best option, and wondering what caused this since the last few years it did not use any oil or have the blow-by issue.
Thanks in advance for ideas/comments.

Edit: this is in an8x20 series tractor
