Subject: RE: Current dairy economy

When you get done reading this, you are going to think " this guy is talking out of both sides of his mouth", but here it goes. The best time to get in is when everybody else is getting out, meaning buying cows and supplies cheaper may be the advantage that you need. A lot of people bought high prices cows when things were good only to have the dairy cycle kick them in the teeth a year later. Having said that you need to understand there will be one year of home run prices to every 4 years of breakeven prices. It doesn't matter what segment of ag you are in , that seems to hold true. 3 years ago, the crop guys thought they were in uncharted territory, 2 years ago the dairy guys were on top, last year the beef guys were just giddy, Today everybody is pissed !Things have always been tough in agriculture, everyone's ancestors have stories that you wonder how did they hang on. So that's the question for you, do you think you have what it takes to hang on? Good luck,, Ron
