NEVER mix brass & stainless! That is an industry wide NO-NO. The brass will degrade the stainless. Stainless fasteners should be considered stronger than grade 2, but weaker than grade 5. Do NOT tack-weld a stainless nut in place after assembly with tightened bolt, as the nut will heat-shrink on the bolt & cause it to shear when trying to disassemble . Also, chinese fasteners are, in fact of poorer quality than domestic, but good luck trying to find domestic stainless.
