All a manifold does is split the flow different ways.  An orifice keeps that flow equal.  No different than a spray boom.  The center tip should spray the same amount as the one 60' away because of orifices.  Not equal length tubes or spinning cones.  Put an orifice in each outlet of the "ubiquitous saucer shaped red manifolds" and they'll all put out the same amount of product.
