If cash is done away with, or even today where any significant amount of cash is assumed to have been ill gotten gains by authorities and subject to confiscation, then the only alternative of storing ones labor is to either give the money to a bank where the money no longer belongs to its owner but is a unsecured loan to the bank or to buy some hard asset in hopes that asset can later be sold to recoup the value.
Once cash is banned, as bad as cash is about being officially debased, bank deposits are subject to even more potential evils. They will have gotten us by the balls as far as control of our finances are concerned.
