I think "heating oil" is just the terminology for Diesel, that can be either heating oil quality or engine use.
Technically it is on the board as: NY Harbor ULSD Futures
But heating oil is so much easier to say and more concise. That is about the limit of my knowledge concerning the product.
The trading symbol is "HO" too.
