"Here" a lot of guys including us pull them behind the field cultivator. Not sure on soil types there, but we have trouble with bunching of stalks or even bean stubble on lighter ground. And that's after the field cultivator. Mostly early in the morning or after the sun goes down

That being said, a lot would depend on your combine setup. If you've got a good chopper on the combine and you have knife rolls at least on the corn head I think you would be ok if it was during the day.

We turbo till in the fall on stalks and bean ground, but Id take ours out on that without a problem.
