Central South Dakota		I have done it both ways. I always try to spray with the row when I can and usually run auto steer going with the row and are fine 80-85% of the time. The other 15-20%, I'll spray 90 degrees to the row because of field contour, sprayer wanting to dog track, or because of the huge variety of different crops grown in our area drift management becomes a big issue if you cannot get the correct wind.

I won't spray at a 30-45 degree angle, you simply run down too much crop.
